Electric Works is pleased to present this print featuring a chapter illustration by Philip Pullman.  This illustration was hand-drawn by Pullman for the Lantern Slides Edition of His Dark Materials and corresponds to "Chapter Fifteen: Bloodmoss" from The Subtle Knife.  

These prints are hand-signed by Philip Pullman and are offered in a limited edition of 100.  

These are letterpress prints, one of the oldest printing techniques, dating back over 1,000 years.  They are printed on heavy-duty, 100% cotton paper and feature custom "chops" from both the author and artist's studio, but also from us, the publishers.  They are printed in rich black to ensure the highest level of detail is captured in each illustration. 

In Pullman's own words:  "Before the first Dark Materials Books came out, the publisher suggested it would be good to have a small decorative device at the head of every chapter. 'The same one in every chapter?', I asked and then suggested  'Why don’t we have a different one?'. 'Well, OK', he conceded. I then asked if I could draw them. 'But you’re not an artist', he pointed out. I said I could draw, and he challenged me to prove it. So I went away and had a go."

Print measures 9" x 9", with the image approximately 5" x 5" (~23cm x 23cm and 12.5cm x 12.5 cm respectively).  Prints ship in heavy-duty boxes from the US.
